The remains of 17 Peshmerga fighters, who were captives of ISIS, have been discovered in a mass grave in Hawija. According to media affiliated with the Union, the remains of 17 Peshmerga fighters were found in a mass grave in Hawija, and based on available information, these remains belong to Peshmerga fighters who were captured by ISIS in 2015.
Yasmin Munzer, the director of the mass graves department at the Iraqi Forensic Medicine Authority, stated that the mass grave was uncovered in the “Bengara” area of Hawija district. She also mentioned that DNA samples from the remains are currently being collected in Erbil, and the results will be announced once the analysis is completed.
